Alchemy Martial Arts is a welcoming and inclusive gym located centrally between Broadstairs and Margate in Thanet for individuals of all skill levels and all walks of life. We teach traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & No Gi, Muay Thai, MMA, and more.

We believe that the practice of martial arts can be a powerful tool for personal growth and development, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported in their journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Do I Need To Bring To My First Session?

Bring a small hand towel for sweat, a bottle of water, no zipped clothing, flip flops.

Shorts and t shirt for MMA and No Gi.

We can provide a Gi for your first class.

Stand up classes – gloves, shin pads, gum shields, if you have them. If not they can be purchased at our club.

What Do I Need To Do Before My First Class?

Clip your finger and toe nails. ensure dental hygiene. Remove jewellery for your safety and for others.

What To Expect When I Come To The GYM?

Upon entering the gym, we have a no shoes on the mat policy and no bare feet off the mat policy to keep a good hygiene standard.

Is The First Session Free?

Yes.

Can I Pay Cash?

Yes, we accept cash, card payments or bank transfers

  This is a great place that doesn’t just teach a sport it gives you a real sense of community and belonging. I have made friends from all walks of life and cultures. BJJ its self has given me confidence in myself and ability. The ladies only class are great fun and really help with that confidence and friendship. The staff and owner are fantastically friendly and it’s great knowing all are included. You see people with disabilities working and training there meet people from all different countries. This place has opened up my world not just getting fit and doing a sport but travelling and trying new things as well.

  Alchemy is the best martial arts gym in Thanet, been training here for just over 2 years now and never felt better about myself it’s my passion it’s my life. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to start a form of martial arts. The cosches are amazing the students are amazing and it’s all one big family, alchemy has helped me and pushed me to achieve lots of goals from stepping up in the levels to competing internationally and it’s only going to get better 🤙🏼

  I can’t recommend Alchemy Martial Arts enough. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and welcoming to all abilities, whether you’re completely new to martial arts or have years of experience. The atmosphere is friendly and inclusive, and there’s was a real sense of community from the moment I walked through the doors. The range of classes is excellent, and every session is both challenging and enjoyable. It’s been fantastic for my fitness, confidence, and learning new skills.
